Keeping the Kids Safe Online
I'm online a lot for my classes. How can I encourage my children to use the Internet while keeping them out of harm's way?
The World Wide Web has opened doors and expanded the horizons of many of us. It gives us the opportunity to communicate affordably in real time. We can share photographs, videos, and meet others from coast-to-coast and around the world.
Just like with other types of media (e.g. television, books, magazines, video games, music), there are certain things you may not want your child to access. Work with your child and share with them the kinds of things you want them to access on the Web.

Online Student Interview: David
"If it wasn't for online education, I would not have been able to complete a bachelor's degree or pursue my master's."
David has had a variety of experiences with distance learning. His first academic experience was not a positive one. His second didn't go that well either. Three online schools later, he finally found an academic institution that met his needs. The fourth time's the charm! He decided to stay at the college and will also be pursing an advanced degree there. No matter the school, David knew that distance learning was the best option for him.
"I love that aspect of online learning. I can study at any time and do not have to worry about attending classes and fighting traffic every day."
