Online Bachelor's Degree Programs — News for the Week of November 12th, 2007

B.A. & B.S. Degrees

"What is the difference?"

The difference between earning a bachelor of arts (BA) and earning a bachelor of science (BS) varies depending on the school. For most colleges and universities in the United States, BA programs allow for a student to take more elective courses. In other words, BA students typically have to take fewer required courses to fulfill their major.

For the most part, BS students have a more structured course schedule in order to fulfill the requirements for their major. Ellis University, whose main campus is located in New York City, offers mostly bachelor of science programs, but lists two bachelor of arts programs (both are offered by their English Department).

If you are looking for the right bachelor's degree program delivered online, remember that all schools listed on eLearners.com are accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and/or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Listed below are some of the most popular programs for master's degrees in business:

Hot Careers in 2007: Dental Assistant

The first president of the United States, Mr. George Washington, lived his entire adult life battling bad teeth. Had he lived today, he would have been able to avoid the pain and discomfort of infections, weak enamel, and ill-fitting dentures.

Dental assistants play an important role in dental offices, and the job growth for this job is growing fast (at a rate greater than 27 percent!), according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Penn Foster Career School provides self-paced training programs for individuals interested in learning about dental assistance.

The Penn Foster Career School is nationally accredited, and provides courses that are self-paced. Self-paced means that students can study in their spare time. When you have completed a lesson, you will be mailed the next lesson right away. And you can start your lessons at any time.

You can train for a great career as a dental assistant on a schedule that works for you. Learn about this school and see if the Penn Foster Career School's programs might work for you.
