Networking in Online Classes
I would like to network and interact with my classmates. Are there any tips about how to get to know others in my online class?
One of the benefits of taking classes is being able to professionally network and socialize with others who share your interests. With classmates located throughout the United States and internationally, your online classes give you a great opportunity to meet folks from all over.
For students new to distance learning it is especially important to know how to socially navigate the virtual classroom. Read about netiquette and navigating your online class in our article How to Avoid Isolation in Your Online Course.

Online Student Interview: Thomas
"Believing is achieving, and achieving is believing. For if I believe, I can, and I will, achieve."
At first, Thomas sounds like every other online student you've ever met. He's a dedicated husband, a full-time employee, and a leader in his community and church. What makes his online education experience something to read about is that Thomas is legally blind.
"There are still people who holds a negative, stereotypical perception of blind people and their 'limits' and that they can not be in certain fields. I have gotten used to having to prove myself to others, but it's frustrating."
Read about the experience of this 31-year-old online student.
