Federal Loans for Students
I know that there are different types of federal loans available for students. What are the major differences, especially for adult students?
After completing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid, your college or university will provide you with a financial aid package (if you are eligible). If you are eligible for financial aid, your assistance package will most likely include federal student loans.
Federal loans are available to all students including adults and distance education students. Federal loans are only available to individuals who are citizens of the United States, have a high school diploma or GED, and working toward a certificate or degree program.

Online Student Interview: Marie
"I met many professionals who also had families and full-time careers and did not want to spend the time commuting to a brick-and-mortar school. They were bright, articulate, and very serious about pursuing their degrees."
When she was younger, Marie put her postsecondary studies to the side to raise four great children and help support her family. Today, in her fifties, she is back in the classroom (at least virtually) and earning her doctorate.
"I firmly believe you get out of a school what you put into it I'm really glad I did it and I am looking forward to my letters."
