Do I need to complete a FAFSA?

FAFSA is an acronym that stands for "Free Application for Federal Student Aid." The FAFSA is your first step in determining how much financial aid you can receive from the U.S. government. Your college or university may use this document to figure out how much you will be able to spend on your tuition.

When talking to your Enrollment Counselor, ask him/her if the school participates in Federal Student Aid programs. The FAFSA form requires a lot of personal financial information, so have your tax forms ready when filling it out. The submission deadline is June 30th, 2008 at midnight (Central Daylight time).

You will be able to apply for Federal Student Aid so long as you are a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or eligible noncitizen. You can learn more about financial aid in our Guide to Online Education. Learn more
