Get Your Job to Pay for School |
|
Wanting to go back to school and being able to pay for it are two different things, but luckily lots of employers offer tuition assistance perks to make sure they're got a competitive, educated, and well-trained staff. After all, it's easier to pay for a great employee to go back to school than to recruit and train new employees who'll need to learn your business from the ground up.
To encourage
your job to pay for school:
- See HR or talk to your manager to see if tuition reimbursement already an established perk.
- Explain to your manager how this schooling will make you a better employee.
- Use a school's course catalog to make a mock schedule of the classes you would like to take your first and second semesters. This way, your manager has a tangible example of what you'll be studying.
- If you will be earning your degree online (easier by far when you're an adult
with a full-time job), explain that with e-learning, you learn on your own time, which ensures it won't interfere with your workday.
