   Check Out: Diploma Mills

Graphic for diploma mills What is a diploma mill?

A diploma mill is a business that makes money by posing as a legitimate college, university, or school. Diploma mills will award degrees without evaluating any (or very little) academic work from their "students." Their two main customers are people who:

  1. People who genuinely believe they are enrolling at a quality institution
  2. People who are aware they are purchasing a phony degree

These "schools" make their money selling printed degrees and providing academic references and falsified transcripts to individuals who have purchased degrees from them. Pretty sleazy, huh?

We bet you're asking, "How can I spot a diploma mill?" or "How can I avoid getting involved with one?" Look here for the top 10 ways to spot a diploma mill, then take the quiz to see how well you can tell a genuine, accredited university from a diploma mill!

Remember!
Each and every school on eLearners.com is a genuine, fully accredited insitution. You can always browse with confidence on eLearners.com.

   Online Student Spotlight: Scott

A decade passed before Scott would seek his master's degree after earning his bachelor's degree. Why?

Well, the major didn't exist at the time! Scott earned his master's in education, with a concentration in integrating technology in the classroom. (Here's a link to that particular degree.)

Now, armed with his targeted master's degree, Scott is teaching his seventh-graders the computer programs in Microsoft Office, Dreamweaver for building Web sites, and Fireworks for creating Web graphics. He's even teaching the teachers to implement technology in the classroom.
