Special Section: The Recession & Your Education
|
We know the word "recession" throws the country into a panic — you don't need to look further than the stock market for evidence of that! But we're willing to bet there's a lot you don't know and a lot you should know about the recession and what it means for your education.
Did you know? Recessions are normal and they happen, on average, every two or three years. It's true that this one has been particularly difficult, but it will end.
The economy is expected to pick back up in mid-2009. And there are things you can do in the meantime to fortify your resume and, ultimately, your career to come out of this recession in, perhaps, better shape than you went in.
eLearners dug deep for this one, folks. Click to see the brand new eLearners Recession Section!

Online Student Profile: Andrew
|
When Andrew started working as a software engineer, a degree wasn't required as long as you had the skills. Now he feels a degree is critical to moving ahead.
While Andy felt he was "really lucky" at first to get by without a degree, it began to limit his opportunities. So after getting his bachelor's degree in IT online from the popular University of Phoenix, Andy became an online student at Bellevue University to pursue his master's degree in MIS (Management Information Systems), a program that catapults IT managers to upper-management, CIO level.
Bellevue University offers 25 master's degrees and more than 25 bachelor's degrees. See them all here or read the rest of Andrew's student profile!
