Ph.D. & Doctorate Programs
A doctor's degree is the highest possible rank that universities award to students. It is a demanding endeavor and only 1.3 percent of the U.S. population holds a doctorate (March 2006 Census Bureau).
It may sound intimidating, but for many of you, earning your doctoral degree has been your goal. Luckily, you have many options about how you want pursue your Ph.D. (or D.B.A., or Ed.D., etc.)
"Are there advantages to earning my Ph.D. online?"
Most students who have studied online have said that they enjoyed being able to pursue their education without having to dramatically change their lives.
The majority of graduate students who chose to study online have children, and moving was not a reasonable option for their families. Other students have mentioned that it would not be economical to be a commuting student (paying for extra gas, or having to travel long distances to a campus location). If you are interested in pursuing your doctor's degree online, here are some fields of study that are offered in an online format:
- Arts & Humanities
- Business & Management
- Computers & Technology
- Education & Teaching
